4. Ambulatory & St. Patrick's Chapel

St. Columkille of Ireland
St. David of Wales
The ambulatory is the walkway around the sanctuary. Its small chapels honor patron saints of major national and ethnic groups that made up the immigrant population in the Archdiocese at the time of the cathedral's completion. First is St. Patrick, representing the Irish and English. This "Apostle to Ireland" is flanked (left to right) by windows depicting Sts. Brigid, Thomas More, Margaret of Scotland, David of Wales, and Columkille of Ireland.
